Choosing a stone professional to care for and maintain your natural stone is a worthy investment.

Waxing and coating natural stone can be a costly endeavor. Those types of finish wear faster and more obviously than a professional polishing. Smearing, smudging, or ugly traffic patterns are more likely with waxes or coatings. Those types of quick fixes may also trap moisture within the stone and compromise the integrity of the stone in the long run.

Slate BBQ Before and Afters

This tile backsplash was marred with smoke and grease.  With proper products and methods, the stone was returned to a beautiful color.

Degreasing natural stone can be challenging because of its porosity.  Harsh chemicals can compromise the integrity of the slate and cause premature degeneration.  Impregnating the stone with professional grade sealer will keep the smoke and grease from deeply staining the tiles.

Proper sealing also increases the effectiveness of daily maintenance.  Always remember to use a ph neutral cleaner on all of your natural stone surfaces.

Many clients opt to use an enhancing* impregnator to deepen and intensify the colors of slate and natural stone.  Slate is an excellent candidate for enhancement because of the variety of colors.

This slate entry was coated with a sealer that needed to be stripped away prior to resealing.  Coatings tend to wear unevenly and unattractively.  You can see how the flooring looks before we started.  Coating removal can be rather cumbersome to take on as a do it yourself project.  Many homeowners opt to have a professional do the job instead.

The end result is slate flooring sealed with an impregnating enhancer.  The sealer works from within the stone, instead of sitting on top of the stone.  Impregnators reduce slip issues, and won't flake away like coatings.  Enhancing Sealers deepen and intensify the stone color.

Stone Floor Deep Clean and Seal

Natural Stone Floors are porous and require on-going maintenance to preserve their beauty and integrity. The National Association of Home Builders expect natural stone, particularly granite, marble and slate to last approximately 100 years with proper maintenance.

We have some exciting developments and we're looking forward to finding out how we can help you in 2011.

First, we're constantly improving our natural stone care and tile and grout service methods. We have been restoring and cleaning and sealing and polishing marble, stone, tile and grout all over Maui and plan to continue doing the same in 2011.

Secondly, we're working alongside one of the top Porcelain Refinshing Companies from Honolulu and bringing their excellent methods and work to the Island of Maui. So, if you have fiberglass shower stalls or porcelain bath tubs that need improvement, we can do the consultation and schedule the work.

Lastly, 2011 will bring faster glass restoration. We trained with a leading expert in Oakland and are bringing the latest technology in glass restoration to Maui. In the past, glass restoration has been tedious and slow, but now whether its a scuff, scratch or simply swirl marks on your window or glass, we can clarify it quickly and thoroughly.

Marble Counter - Restoration Etch Removal

This marble countertop had extensive etching and swirlmarks throughout the surface. The finish was dulled and needed cleaning up. Lance went through graduated grades of diamond sanding to remove the damage and resurface the marble to a smooth sleek finish. The countertop was brought to a high polish and resealed with a penetrating sealer specifically suited to marble. Vacation Home - Wailea, Maui, Hawaii

Marble Fills Luxury Villa Maui, Hawaii

It was a beautiful day with kitesurfers flying by outside the large picture windows from this oceanfront luxury villa in Maui, Hawaii. The villa was purchased with the existing beige marble tiled floors. Pencil eraser sized holes started appearing throughout the flooring over time and the Owner asked if we could replace the marble tiles with his extra pieces. Once we started counting up the number of holes in the tiles, they numbered over 35. So, as a cost effective remedy, we offered him the option of filling the holes instead of replacing the tiles.

Lance was able to fill the holes in an afternoon successfully and buff the finish back to get it even. Some issues were identified with loose tiles that will likely have to be replaced in the future.

Needless to say our client was happy with the work, the appearance and the safety of the floor was greatly improved and we called it a day.
